SUSSMANN Hanna (Hanni)[1]
|
* According to Gexa's diary, Hani SUSSMAN SIMON died in 1848
in Topolyhanusfalva. Public records indicate that Pal's wife (Sali) died
in 1879 in Hanusfalva. Some of the SIMON family charts made around 1985
appear to make the assumption that Hani SIMON and Sali/Sara SIMON are the same
person. This is very likely an error. The scenario that seems
likely is that Pal and his wife Hani were living in Homonna in 1848 when the
revolution broke out. They returned to Pal's birth place, Hanusfalva
where Hani died. Pal remarried Sali/Sara and had a son Jakab with her in
1852. Saly died in 1879. The birth year of 1814[1][2]
or 1815[3] attributed
to Hani in some of the SIMON charts appears to be calculated backwards from
the date of death of Sali SIMON and is therefore probably also in error. |
Uncle Geza's Diary: On His Grandparents Pal & Hani |

His [Nachum's] second son, Pál, my grandfather, was born in the year 1804 in Hanusfalva, [and] died in the year 1884 in Nagyvárad at my father’s home. He was a restaurant owner in Homonna, even during the events [revolution] of 1848. Due to his patriotic behavior, he was exposed to suffering by [occupying] Russian troops, to whom he caused much damage. He was a strong and courageous man; he wrestled with me when he was 75 years old and even then he beat me. His [Pál’s] wife Hani, died in 1848 in Hanusfalva. My father Ábrahám Simon was born in the year 1833 in at Hanusfalva in Saros County, adjacent to Eperjes, where his father Pál Simon was farming. |
