* Mounting, but inclusive evidence indicate that Karoly's parents were probably Bernat (Dov) BREUER (b. abt. 1806; d. Feb 25, 1876) and his wife Fani (b. abt. 1811; d. 1869). Bernat & Fani were witnesses/godparents at the birth of Karoly's firstborn, Adolf. The first male born after Bernat's death was named after him and the first female born after Fani's death was named after her. Bernat and Fani had one other child we know of named Mali who was born June, 07, 1852.^[3] Bernat's (Dov Ber's) tombstone in the Ujfeherto Cemetery lists his father's Hebrew name as Yitzchok^[9].
